A series using mainly publicity and promotional actor headshots found in film and cinema review year books from mid-20th century. I work over the images in oil pastels using a straight edge as a guide to create a dynamic veil or ‘filter’ across the smiling faces of actors and performers - some that might fall into the ‘legend’ category and others that disappered into obscurity.

There are a few other works in this series that use the same technique with pastels but are of different subjects matter: other artworks, found photographs of people and nature.

I do not make prints of these works as they are already created on a mass-produced object, so each one is a one-off, unique and original artwork.
